Yes, there’s an apostrophe in Nor’easter. No, there isn’t one in the word “storms”, unless that storm is possessing something!

Apostrophe Tattoos
D for apostrophe abuse, F for consistency
I’m endlessly annoyed by “ski’s,” but really, really annoyed that this store only abused skis, not snowboards. I’d pay good money to relive the interaction between sign maker and store owner. Sign makers are grammar snobs, I’d wager, but also can’t be too harsh on their paying client’s [sic] views on words and aesthetics.

Produce Managers Special
No apostrophe with the special price on this package of alfalfa and radish sprouts. Maybe they have a special, deep-seated loathing for apostrophes. Ingles was founded by Robert Ingle, so yeah, it’s one of those businesses as well.
This is the Ingles grocery in Waynesville, NC. I mentioned it to a manager-type person and got the expected blank stare in return (which is always good for a chuckle later on).

Sears in Independence, MO
This flyer is posted on both sides of the glass doors on every entrance/exit of the Independence Sears. So many errors in such a short message.
Bonus:
They hid the post from their Facebook timeline when I called their attention to it.
Sears, I am profoundly disappointed in the amount of grammatical errors in this one flyer, which is prominently displayed on all the doors of one of your stores.
